This week we have to give pride of place to both our U12 and U14 girls.

This bunch of girls have put in a tremendous display of dedication and commitment over the past two weeks, with girls from both age groups playing nearly every evening in both camoige and football, and giving it their all in all games. Each and every girl should stand up and take a bow. We are proud of each and every one of you.

U12 – The girls traveled to Roscommon Gaels on Monday evening last, where they played the Gaels i the U12 semi final.  They put in a spirited performance and were unlucky to lose the game. They had the consolation of reaching the “B” final which was played on Sunday in St Faithleach’s against St Dominics. This was a game of two halves, with St Dominic’s having the upper hand in the first half and our girls having it in the second half. Despite having the majority of the position in the 2nd half, we were unlucky to lose the game by the narrowest of margins. The game showed all the skills which the girls had learned in training, and they executed these skills to perfections. The club would like to thank the parents for supporting the girls and or bringing them to training and matches througout the year. We would also like o thank the management for their dedication – Olivvia Hynes, Valerie Hynes, Kevin Clogher, Sarah Scott and Aine Hynes. And lastly the girls – Catherine Keane, Rachel Clogher, Emma Mannion, Laura Gately, Deborah Finneran, Sinead Mannion, Andrea Murray, Mairead Lohan, Alison Corrigan, Leah Moore, Erin Garvey, Claire Gacquin, Eva Finneran, Ruth Gannon, Aisling Brennan, Annie Kate Thorose, Celine Gacquin, Katie Ann Gacquin, Anna Galvin, Orla Gately, Maria Bolger, Moira Delaney, Alannah Campbell, Annalise Fallon, Niamh Gacquin and Saorse Gacquin. This was a closely contested final, with both teams showing dedication and commitment from the throw in. It was a game which ebbed and flowed but unfortunately Shannon Gales proved too strong on the day. Th club would like to thank the parents and supporters for all your encouragement.
