As time ticks on Just a remainder that the U16’s take on Kildare in their all-Ireland semi-final on the 12th July at 7pm in Kinnegad Westmeath. U12 Club Blitz:

On Monday of last week the county board held a novelty U12 blitz in Ballyleague for the clubs who failed to make the semi-finals of the championship, this was a massively enjoyable and successfully ran day out and the girls and management both thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Overall 11 clubs (St.Barrys, St Ciarans, Clann nan Gael, St.Croans, St.Marys, Shannon. Gaels, Kilglass Gaels, St.Faithleach’s, Ballinameen, Strokestown and Kilbride), 15 teams in total, 184  players took part.

The games were held in  St.Faithleachs . excellent facilities etc , special thanks to Nicola and Ray for their help setting it up. Thanks to Tommy Beirne and Johnny Cox for their help .

Thanks to all the referees , Dean Manning , Shannon Caulfield , Louise Murray , James Murray , Louise Brady , Karl Malone , Brian Quigley , Louise Brady , Sinead Keenahan, Aidan Cox, Aaron Fannon , Aine Keenan  Aidan Maine . We hope to seeing them doing alot more of our games now that they have completed the level 1 course.

All the teams had 4 games so all players got lots of football. all about fun , non-competitive , no scores recorded so no pressure on players. At end of blitz all players congregated in front of clubhouse and received a goody bag compliment of the co board. Weather was fab which made the occasion all the more successful.

Finally a massive thank you for organising the day, referees teams etc. has to go to our register Sandra Shanagher who took on the task and executed it brilliantly

184  u 12 girls took part in blitz on Monday  evening last in st Faithleachs  . Great fun had by all!
