U16 Update

U16’s game called off against Sligo:

Our Kildea Concrete, James Irwin Construction, XLnt signs, Flemings Supervalu sponsored U16’s All-Ireland “B” semi-final playoff against Sligo due to be played  in Ballaghaderreen on Sunday evening last was cancelled due to a bereavement on the Sligo side. The re-fixed game date and venue is not known at the time of going to press so watch our social media site for updates. The winners of this game will play in the  All Ireland “B” semi-final against Leinster champions Kildare on the 12th July.

U14 Update:

U14 County Blitz (No subject)

The Stephen McGuinneass sponsored Roscommon County U14 team continued their development when they travelled to Kinnagad on Saturday last to take part in the All Ireland “C” Blitz Competition

On a miserable day with no let up in the rain, and with it getting heavier as the day progressed.

Roscommon Played 3 round games – first up we played Louth, and after a shaky start the girls settled and emerged victorious on a scoreline of  3:8 to 1:0

In Roud 2 was against Wicklow – they were a stronger side and the girls lost on a score line of 2:2 to 0:1.

Finally in Round 3 –the  girls played Antrim – this was a hard physical game with nothing between the two teams. The girls gained the upper hand towards the end coming away with a win on a scoreline of 1:4 to 2:0.

Semi Final – we played Louth, and they came out energised and put the game up to the girls. We were unfortunate to lose but the most important thing is the girls came away with good results and got to play other county teams.

This was the final games for 2017, and the group will be taking a break for the summer with the girls involved with club games. Development will start up again later in the year and we look forwad to seeing the girls at this.
